"Es ist sicher nicht leicht, für so eine Mischung aus echtem Interesse und bloßer Neugier, Business und Debattenkultur, Promi-Begegnung und Literaturbegeisterung passende Slogans zu finden. Festzuhalten ist aber schon erst mal, dass zu defensiven Untergangsszenarios [...] kein Anlass besteht."

(Rough translation: It is certainly not easy to find fitting slogans for such a mix of genuine interest and mere curiosity, business and debate culture, celebrity encounters and literary enthusiasm. But one thing is already clear: there are no grounds for defensive scenarios of an imagined downfall [of the book industry].)

Anti-Racist Resource Guide

An American academic has put together a reading list for fledgling anti-racists that is the best-rounded, most thoughtful one I have seen so far.

It ranges from calls to action, and films and magazine articles and non-fiction books and more, to novels about African-American experiences.

I am working through the list. It's a gradual process; I only wrapped up New York Times Magazine's 1619 project on June 21st, and have read Ta-Nehisi Coates's article for The Atlantic: "Civil-Rights Protests Have Never Been Popular" (October 23, 2017).
